The Baltimore Sister City Committees operate under the auspices of the Office of the Mayor of Baltimore City and Sister Cities International for the purpose of strengthening partnerships between Baltimore City and international communities. The committees strive to build global cooperation at the municipal level, promote cultural understanding and stimulate economic development. Through volunteers, the committees motivate and empower private citizens, municipal officials and business leaders to conduct long-term sister city programs.
Baltimore is presently Sister Cities with 11 different thriving cities around the globe.
